Proposed Change in Bylaws

At the July 2 Board meeting it was proposed that the bylaws be changed to allow a board member to stay on the board for more than two consecutive terms, but in a different position.  If you are a member of CDEC and have a concern about this change before it is voted on at our September meeting, contact any current board member.

The current bylaws read as follows.  The amended language follows in italics.

Section 2 of Article 4 of our bylaws states the following concerning the term a board member can hold: Number Tenure and Qualifications. The Board of Directors shall consist of from seven (7) to thirteen (13) members.

Directors elected from the membership in attendance at the annual meeting. The Directors

elected shall take office immediately after they are elected and shall serve two or three years.

After serving for two (2) full consecutive terms, a Director may not be re-elected again until

being absent from the Board for at least one (1) year.

Proposed new language for this section:

Directors elected from the membership in attendance at the annual meeting. The Directors

elected shall take office immediately after they are elected and shall serve two or three years. After serving for two (2) full consecutive terms, a Director may not be re-elected again to that same position until being absent from the Board for at least one (1) year. After two terms are expired a board member can be elected to a different position on the board.

First and third weekend of every month

Guided tours of Franklin Mountains State Park.
9 Am.  For more information call 566-6441.

$4 per person, 12 and under free.  $60 Annual Pass covers entrance to all Texas State Parks.
