May 22 – Desert Ecology Talk

Dr. Paul Hyder, a New Mexico native, has been involved in environmental education, both formally at New Mexico State University where he worked for the USDA/ARS/Jornada Experimental Range and at Eastwood High School where he teaches AP Environmental Science, and informally, providing classes and field experiences for the Texas Parks and Wildlife’s Master Naturalist Program, Celebration of Our Mountains, and various other civic groups. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. at NMSU where he studied rattlesnakes and plant ecology, respectfully. Dr. Hyder is an avid musician, photographer and artist and co-authored “Snakes, Lizards, Turtles, Frogs, Toads, and Salamanders of New Mexico – A Field Guide”.
